Project Description

The development was undertaken between April 2018 and November 2019 and included the clearance of vegetation as well as the expansion of the existing farm dam wall by approximately 2 000 m2. The purpose of the development was to assess the condition of the existing dam wall by clearing the surrounding vegetation and, subsequently, to repair the dam wall by making it wider and ensuring that the dam would not collapse. The dam is used to store water for the irrigation of pastures and for livestock drinking water in order to accommodate the grazing that takes place on the farm. Habitat Link Consulting (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by the Proponent to submit an application for the abovementioned activities in terms of Section 24(G) of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).
